As far as we know and understand,there are two eras or cycles in the world of religion.  The first cycle started with Adam and ended with Muhammad.  The second cycle started with Baha'u'llah who proclaimed the oneness of humanity.  The Bab was an independent messenger from God who linked these two cycles and gave glad tidings of the coming of Baha'u'llah.  The Adamic cycle lasted 6000 years and Baha'u'llah's cycle will last for 500,000 years.

Anlayabildiğimiz ve bilebildiğimiz kadarıyla iki peygamberlik halkası vardır. Ümmete özgü gelen peygamberlerin ilk halkası Hz. Adem ile başlamış ve Hz.Muhammed ile son bulmuştur. İnsan aleminin birliği ve evrenselliğin kurucusu olan Hz.Baha'ullah ile yeni bir peygamberler halkası başlamıştır. Hz.Bab bu iki devreyi birleştiren ve Hz. Baha'ullah'ın doğacağını haber veren bağımsız bir İlahi elçidir. Hz. Adem ile başlayan devir 6000 yıl sürmüş ve Baha'ullah'ın dönemi (kevri) 500,000 yıl sürecektir.
